Aaron aaron@peaktopeakpromotions.com
At the tender age of 6, Aaron began taking his first piano lessons in Tucson, AZ. He got his first guitar at age 9, and at age 13 was playing drums in his first band. After some turbulent teenage years, Aaron moved to Flagstaff, AZ seeking direction in life. This is where Aaron discovered the Grateful Dead and solidified his deep passion for music. Aaron attended Northern Arizona University, receiving a business degree in 1997. His first project out of college was founding From Creation Workshop, a Rastafarian-influenced commune that attempted to bridge connections between Native American culture, reggae artists, and social activists in both the arts and sciences. After this noble, but failed attempt to “change the world”, Aaron decided to go nomadic and lived out of his trusty ’69 Ford van for the next year. Aaron toured around the country chasing the legendary jam band Phish, the Rainbow family, and other experiences of the moment. In 1999, Aaron decided to resettle in Fort Collins, CO. He roomed with the amazing artists, Mike and Dan Huling (www.handsomelittledevils.com) who taught Aaron to play didgeridoo and loaned him his first bass guitar. The next few years, Aaron bounced around through various musical acts, including Toadstone & the DHR, Hanna Street, and Domestic House Rhythm (with Marshal Van Stone and Ehren Crumpler, now of Wasabi www.wasabiband.org). This exposed Aaron to the incredible wealth of musical talent in Northern Colorado. This is also where Aaron met his wife Jennifer, who sang back-up with several of the band’s incarnations. Aaron made his latest move to Longmont, CO in 2004 and received his Masters in Business Administration from CSU in 2005. This is where Aaron met young talent Travis McClearen to record his band's (Aviator Relay) demo EP and through him his brother Jamie. Jamie and Aaron immediately hit it off and recognized a common vision and mutual dream to work in the Colorado music industry. Herein lies the seed of Peak to Peak Promotions.
Jamie
jamie@peaktopeakpromotions.comJamie was raised in Pryor, Ok, home of the Country Fever festival and a rich southern musical heritage. With support and encouragement from his father, Jamie began exploring his attraction to music. Jamie began first with his own voice, singing in his school choir. In Jr. High, Jamie was inspired by his vocal coach and choir instructor to pick up the guitar and he quickly learned to play. Jamie’s early influences included lots of punk rock and alternative rock bands like Rush, Cult, and The Cure. In 1992, Jamie went to his first rave in New Orleans. This experience had a dramatic impact on Jamie, turning him on to the wonders of electronic music. It is a passion he has held ever since. It was not long before Jamie was throwing his own dance parties. Over the next several years, Jamie had regular house parties and threw several major events. He is widely regarded as one of the best dance party producers in the South with party people coming from a five state region to enjoy massive shows with 60,000 watt sound systems and state of the art intelligent lighting and projection screens. His top quality parties earned him respect and accolades and opened a few doors for him in the local music industry. Jamie got to rub elbows with some of the top pop artists of the day, such as Beck and The Mighty Mighty Boss Tones. All the while, Jamie was also polishing his own skills as a DJ and cultivating an ear for the finest electronic music. Jamie was on the cutting edge of this scene before most of America even knew what a rave was. In ’95 Jamie moved to Boulder, CO after selling his interest in his production company to one of his partners. He stayed up on his DJ skills and maintained a keen ear for the electronic music scene. Jamie is well respected as a pioneer and aficionado on many electronic music forums to this day. In Boulder, Jamie joined the working world and worked as a production planner for a high tech tape storage company for many years. This paid the bills, but kept Jamie out of the music scene for awhile. In 2005, Jamie’s younger brother Travis, a burgeoning singer-songwriter made the move out to Colorado as well. This inspired Jamie to pick back up in the industry as he became Travis’ manager. Ultimately this led Jamie to Aaron’s studio where the two shared a common love and history for a great musical show. Now the two are setting off to make their own mark on the Colorado music scene.
Sarah
sarah@peaktopeakpromotions.comBorn a first generation American in Milwaukee Wisconsin, home of Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, Sarah’s love for music developed at a young age. Sarah began playing many different instruments from classic instruments (winds, strings) to a drum kit and electric bass. She never was satisfied playing any one instrument and was intrigued at the variety in music even within one instrument. She has been addicted to live music performances ranging from opera to rock shows for as long as she can remember. At the age of 14, Sarah began holding local punk rock shows with people in the local scene. Sarah’s love of live performance expanded when she began attending raves, festivals, Furthur tours, Widespread Panic and Phish shows in the Mid 90's. In 2000, Sarah moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and began working at the legendary Mishawaka Amphitheatre. Sarah attended Front Range Community College studying business and the arts before moving to Winter Park for a ski season. Most recently, Sarah moved to Denver in 2004 and continued working in the music industry at various venues including Red Rocks Amphitheater! Sarah joined the Peak to Peak team early in its formation, working as a booking agent since May 2006.
